“When I received your notice about an opening position for vice president of
the Canadian American Bar Association I was surprisingly and excitedly pleased.

When I first met members of the CABA in Toronto during a legal training session
between Canada and the United States, I immediately wanted to get involved with
the organization.  I needed to wait until my Call to the Bar which became a
reality on June 15, 2012.

I would like to see the CABA develop into a first-rate legal organization
earning the respect and admiration of the legal profession on both sides of the
border.  I am certainly familiar with the workings of the American and Canadian
Bar Associations as well as the New York State and Ontario Bar Associations of
which I am a member.  I believe the CABA has a greater potential to reach issues
affecting both venues of jurisdiction than these other highly respected
organizations because it deals with both jurisdictions.  Increasingly we are
seeing cross-border applications of the law.  With the globalization of
commerce, NAFTA, conflicts of law issues, and inter-jurisdictional sharing of
technology, resources and personnel, I believe the time is optimal to make the
CABA well-known and a part of the legal profession whose members look to for
information and assistance.

I would be honored to be elected to the position of Vice-President of the

“Ms. Faith Nouri is an attorney at law in California and a Barrister &
Solicitor in British Columbia, Canada.

Ms. Nouri is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and
an incoming officer for 2006. She is AILA past officer from 2006 to 2009 and
Vice-Chair for Southern California in 2008-2009. She is the past Chair of the

I received the offer to join the Canadian American Bar Association in April
