Please complete the form below to join the Canadian American Bar Association (CABA). After you have submitted the form, you will be directed to a page to pay your membership dues (if any).


You can join the CABA if you fall into any of the following categories:


  • REGULAR MEMBER: I am (1) a Canadian citizen or graduate of a Canadian university or law school; (2) admitted to practice law in a state or territory of the United States of America, or in the District of Columbia; and (3) work in the United States. I am (1) an American citizen or graduate of an American university or law school; (2) admitted to practice law in a province or territory of Canada; and (3) work in Canada. ($50 annual fee)
  • INTERNATIONAL MEMBER: I am (1) a Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada, or graduate of a Canadian university or law school; (2) admitted to practice law in a state or territory of the United States of America, or in the District of Columbia; and (3) work outside the United States. I am (1) an American citizen, permanent resident of the U.S., or graduate of an American university or law school; (2) admitted to practice law in a province or territory of Canada, and (3) work outside Canada. ($50 annual fee)
  • FOREIGN LEGAL CONSULTANT: I am a Foreign Legal Consultant as defined by the applicable rules of the state, province or territory in which I am employed or practice. ($50 annual fee)
  • STUDENT MEMBER: I am (1) a law student at a Canadian law school and am interested in becoming admitted to practice law in the U.S. or (2) a law student at a U.S. law school and am interested in becoming admitted to practice law in Canada. I am (1) a law student at a Canadian law school and I am a U.S. citizen or graduate of a U.S. university or (2) a law student at a U.S. law school and I am a Canadian citizen or graduate of a Canadian university. (no fee)
  • PROFESSORIAL MEMBER: I am either (1) a professor of law at an American law school and a Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada, or graduate of a Canadian university or law school; OR (2) a professor of law at a Canadian law school and an American citizen, permanent resident of the U.S., or graduate of an American university or law school. (no fee)
